To boot the system from the CD Rom one has to activate the CD Rom as the booting device in the BIOS and then restart the system by inserting the CD in the external drive.

As the recovery console loads one has to type in the following commands that would help to recover and copy the lost NTFS file from the CD to the active partition of the Hard disk.
